Preparing for our final speeches!
Our last session for this course will be our second round of impromptu speeches. Our New York minute speeches are in the grade book, so now let's prep for our bag impromptu speeches. On the night of our last class, you will draw an object from a bag... if nothing clicks then you may draw a second object. Choose wisely here because you will not have another opportunity to make a selection. Your time for preparation begins when you leave the room and you will have three minutes to prepare your note cards. The goal is for you to speak on your topic for three minutes. The rubric is posted as a pdf below.

To help you prepare for your final speech please watch these videos.
The Impromptu videos are linked below. You will need to watch them at home as Youtube videos are blocked at school.
Kidblog is for blogging about your favorite video (and what you learned specifically from it) and commenting on two of your classmates' responses. I will have to approve your responses so others can view them. This will require you to go back to the blog more than once to complete this assignment. Please let me know if you need your password again.

The first video has great tips- take notes on them.
The second video uses a QUICK method -- what does that mean?
The third video uses a PREP method --what does that mean?
The final video is a champion who goes through his presentation and points out the strengths and weaknesses of his speech.
There is something to be learned from each video. Make sure you watch each and comment briefly in the blog on each video before going into more detail about the video that was your favorite and what you learned from watching. Remember to go back into the blog later and comment on two of your classmates' responses.
